Phumuza – Share the Load helps communities set up projects and run them themselves to create job skills and help the communities fend for themselves instead of relying on aid.
Our main focus is on children, however we also help the community in which the children live in. We concentrate on health, education and reconstruction projects based on the principle of self help. We try not to run projects, but work in partnership to give support to local initiatives, and for them to develop their skills.
- We promote community independence by working in conjunction with relevant authorities to assist in creating an environment conducive to the psycho, social, and moral development of the child.
- We help orphans and children from disadvantage backgrounds with educational assistance in the form of stationery, text books, uniforms and fees.
- We provide psychological support to vulnerable children.
- We promote a “give back” policy. We seek to train and help the children gain skills so that they can improve their lives and give back to the community in which they live.
